The thrill of Family History work.

Family History is one of the most rewarding things you could ever do. I love feeling like a detective solving mysteries! The quest to search for clues and piecing them together to reveal a solution is a pure thrill. There is nothing quite like tracking down a new ancestor.

Getting someone past the point they can no longer find records is motivating for me. I want to give them the ability to research further into their family history than they ever imagined. I want others to discover the euphoric feeling of physically walking the land where their grandparents lived or standing in front of the gravestone where they were laid to rest.  It brings them back to life.

You actually start to see them as real people, not just names on a sheet of paper or computer program. It is actually possible to develop relationships with your ancestors.  It feels like making new friends or getting to know a reclusive aunt. The more you engage in family history work, the more people you have in your life to love. You really can start to love those ancestors, and you will be surprised at the close relationships you develop with some of them.
